The purpose of the J-1 Training/Internship Program is to provide international participants with opportunities for professional development, insight into American know-how in the field of training/internship, and a greater understanding of American society and culture. J-1 Trainees/Interns are expected to share the cross-cultural and professional knowledge they have gained in the U.S. upon return to their home country at the end of the training/internship program. The J-1 Program is also intended to allow Americans to learn about the culture and expertise of the participant’s home country. The J-1 Program is not intended to be used in lieu of, or as a stepping-stone for, another visa. Additionally, the J-1 Visa is not to be used to replace American workers or to hire for positions that would otherwise be filled by American employees.
We offer two options:
A: Internship/Traineeship program
This option is designed to offer you full assistance with the J-1 Internshi/Traineeship Program process from start to finish. With the Full Service Placement option, Professional Pathways Australia will find and secure a position for you. We offer paid/unpaid Internship positions in different fields but we do not customise internships meaning all open positions are advertised on our website. Check the Current J-1 positions and if you meet the requirements, apply!
This option is for those whom have found and secured an internship placement on their own. All you need to do is contact us with your placement offer. We will then make sure the position matches your educational and work experience background, and we will assist you with the necessary documentation you need in order to apply for your J-1 visa, including the development of a training plan.
A range of support services are offered by Professional Pathways Australia and our partner in America to ensure you are looked after throughout your stay.
Our 12 months Work and Travel program in the United States provides paid working holiday opportunities for you to work as well as travel and experience daily life in the U.S. for up to a year. We intend that your work & travel (working holiday) opportunities in the U.S. will contribute to your lifelong personal and professional growth. The program is very flexible and a job doesn't need to be pre-arranged but of course can be. You can do any kind of employment (some restrictions apply), which doesn't need to relate to your field of studies. This is a fantastic opportunity for current students and recent graduates to explore US while having fun working and travelling through the country.
