12 Month Traineeships

This program is designed for students and recent graduates who are willing to undertake a program in the US for a period 12 months.

Traineeships are available in Marketing, Hotel/Travel Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, IT and Business Management. You will be an important part of an American company, working full time business hours, five days a week.

This program involves a paid training position offering a salary of US$1200 per month. In areas where living costs are higher, you will be paid a slightly higher salary.  The program is for 12 months.

The program includes:

  • placement in pre-selected area of interest 
  • screening of host company 
  • pre-departure orientation session 
  • full orientation package on arrival 
  • ongoing supervision and support 
  • 24 hour emergency number during your stay 
  • assistance securing a Social Security Number 
  • Certificate of completion 
  • Reference Letter from your host company.

Eligibility

You must be aged 20 to 35 years old and a current student or have graduated within 12 months of your arrival in the USA.

You will need to apply for a J1 visa. Our partner in the USA will arrange the DS 2019 form necessary for this visa. For more information please visit http://sydney.usconsulate.gov/consular/visas/

US locations

A 12 month traineeship is available in a range of locations across the USA, including California, Las Vegas, New England, Washington, Chicago, Florida and more. While you can state your preferred location, unfortunately we cannot guarantee the location of your placement.
