Professional Pathways Australia Privacy Statement
Professional Pathways Australia is required to comply with privacy laws arising from Victorian legislation, including the Information Privacy Act 2000 (Vic) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).
As a registered company, we are also required to comply with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 which includes the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 that extends the Privacy Act (Commonwealth) to the private sector.
These privacy laws regulate how personal information is handled throughout its life cycle, from collection to use and disclosure, storage, accessibility and disposal. They apply to any personal information or health information that a person provides to the company.
Collection of personal information
Professional Pathways Australia will need to collect information about you when you submit an application. We may also record details in order to verify discussions when you contact us. We will not collect information about you unless that information is necessary for us to provide our services to you.
If an individual chooses not to provide the information requested, we may not be able to provide our services to you.
Our website will automatically track your IP address, URL and referrer information when you use it. This information is used to improve our website and will not be retained for any other purpose, unless you submit an application form.
Use of information
The information that you provide us will be collected, saved and used to assess your requirements and coordinate your application process.
In order to facilitate placement, personal information, such as resumes and contact details, will be transmitted to third parties such as potential host companies.
We will not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
If you would like your saved data to be deleted from our system, please contact us.
Unless otherwise prohibited by law or our contractual obligations, we may disclose personal information if required to do so by law, court order, or as requested by a governmental or law enforcement authority.
Security and accuracy of information
We will take reasonable steps to:
- Ensure that any personal information collected, used and disclosed is accurate, complete and up to date
- Protect the personal information held from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure
- Destroy personal information when required by the Privacy Laws
Personal information will be stored securely in hard copy and electronic formats.
Access to personal information
If you would like to find out what information we hold about you, please contact our privacy officer. Unless there is an exemption that applies under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic), we will endeavour to respond to your request within 7 working days.
Opting out of promotional information
Should you decide not to receive promotional information from us, you will have the ability to unsubscribe from our database by following the instructions at the bottom of each email.
