New Melbourne office

On Monday June 22, Professional Pathways Australia (Melbourne) relocated to its Melbourne premises to Bourke Street in the CBD. The new premises include a state-of-the-art computer laboratory, 3 classrooms, a student break-out area and a staff conference room. The layout of the premises mirrors that of the Sydney office.
ACS Professional Year graduation

On Tuesday May 19, the Australian Computer Society hosted the first ever ACS Professional Year graduation event. The event was in the form of a dinner held at The Westin Hotel in Melbourne, and was attended by representatives of the Australian Computer Society, Professional Pathways Australia and The Department of Immigration and Citizenship, and the graduating students.
The event marked the conclusion of the program for the first ever group of ACS Professional Year candidates, who began the inaugural course on May 26, 2008. The dinner included speeches from representatives of each organisation, and also from Mahmudual Hasan Khan, one of the Professional Year graduates. This was followed by the award ceremony and official photographs.
Internships in Argentina & Chile launched

In addition to the 8 current destinations, applicants now have the option of Argentina or Chile. Quality internships in these countries are available all year round and a full range of support services are on offer to applicants, including accommodation, orientation sessions and networking opportunities. March is Careers fairs time!

March is always a busy month on the Professional Pathways Australia calendar as this is when we exhibit at many graduate careers fairs across Sydney and Melbourne. While as usual international students were interested in the internship programs, there was also a focus on the Professional Year programs in IT and Accounting.
Professional Year course begins in Sydney

The new office opening coincided with the first Professional Year course in Sydney. The program began on Monday, February 23 with an orientation day, followed by classes on Tuesday. One of the features of the new office is the classroom space available. All classes are able to be conducted at the one location. The next course scheduled for Sydney is March 30.
