I had just a tremendous time at Tandem Uehling. I was involved in every sector of the company and really enjoyed it, since I always wanted to get an internship in which I will be an important part of the company.
I also appreciated the casual environment and Gregory is a great boss. I feel certain that everyone who will get the chance to do an internship at Tandem Uehling will love it! Be aware you will feel like at home!
On top of this I also enjoyed Sydney’s beaches and the nightlife. It’s a great city to live and to do an internship. I will never have regrets about my decision to do an internship in Australia. It was a terrific experience!

Spending one year in Australia was the best experience I have ever had.
I mainly worked at the reception; however, I got an overall overview what is important to run a hotel, i.e. how to handle problems, how to book guests in, what paperwork is important etc. What I also liked about my internship was that it was a small hotel, i.e. I always felt at home, even my boss was like a friend to me.
This internship made it clear for me that I studied the right subject and would really like to work in a hotel in my future life.
Additionally I would love to get the chance to live in Australia for good. I truly love this wonderful country and its nature. I have never seen a nature like this in Europe. I lived close to the beach in Sydney which is an amazing place to live. Australia’s beaches are really terrific!

I worked most of the time on the Microbiology Laboratory and ran microbial limit tests, water tests and other kinds of quality control tests. I also worked in the Quality Assurance Department, where I helped updating and also transferring some data to their system. Now I’m working on my university project writing about Validation of Limit Testing for a specific product and run tests as well.
I really like people I work with. They are patient and try to help me as much as they can. It’s a very organized company and it’s a pleasure to work here.
I loved the parties and Sydney’s night life. Being able to go to the beach every week was really exciting.

I had a great time at my internship. I really enjoyed that I was so highly involved in the processes of the company and that everyone took time to answer my questions even if the times are really tough at the moment.
My main task was to prepare Credit Limit Requests. That means I searched for companies finding out all the details like shareholding, registered addresses, directors and of course the financials. I was also involved in special projects regarding the current economic crisis.
In Claims I was responsible for risk management which means working with overdue accounts and claims from our clients. I had the responsibility to decide which overdues can be or already are a concern and had to advise the regarding underwriter of the particular company.
My entire tasks were a perfect enhancement to my studies in Germany and I reckon I am well prepared for working in this kind of business area in the future. I felt integrated in the company and found a lot of new friends, not only colleagues. The office atmosphere was serious as well as relaxed.
Regarding the weekends or my free time in general I only can say that Sydney is a great city. This city never sleeps. Something is happening all the time - wine festivals, concerts, art exhibitions and so on. It is great going out here at the evening and then of course you have all the beaches so close to the city.

“I did a lot of different tasks at my internship. I was at many film shoots as a camera assistant, edited small projects and created graphics and animations. I also joined in some of the meetings with customers. I was involved in every step of a video production which was great!
