Host Companies
Becoming a host company with Professional Pathways Australia gives your organisation the chance to connect with, guide and mentor the next generation of young professionals.
In partnership with host companies, interns are provided with a way to reciprocate the goodwill by investing time and skills learned to the benefit of their host company. By supporting an intern within your organisation you can provide a recent graduate, or student enrolled in study, with the practical experience that will enhance their long term employability.
Professional Pathways Australia (a division of Monash University) manages over 500 placements annually. We work with companies of different sizes, areas of business and locations in Australia and have working partnerships with foreign governments, schools, universities and colleges across Australia and the world. Interns can assist your organisation in the completion of short-term projects or complement the current recruitment practices of your organisation^.
An internship program provides many benefits. Professional Pathways Australia is committed to ensuring that host companies gain:
- access to enthusiastic international students and recent graduates who genuinely seek practical experience
- assistance to identify suitable interns. Mapping out a clear work plan/ job description with us will ensure your intern can add value and a competitive edge to your organisation
- a Professional Pathways Australia placement consultant who will manage and monitor each individual internship process from start to finish ensuring that everyone involved has a positive experience
- motivated individuals without risk or financial obligation - interns are unpaid; we provide Public Liability insurance and there is no requirement for Workers’ Compensation insurance.
Our interns come from a range of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds but have all undertaken or are engaged in undergraduate or post graduate study. This criteria enables us to:
- screen all applicants. Our placement consultants to ensure that the intern/s match the requirements of your organisation and have a demonstrated proficiency in English
- review their prior study to match their qualifications to the industry field in which your company operates and the role assigned
- ensure that the intern is here to learn about Australia and is interested in genuinely gaining experience with an Australian company
- determine if the intern has already had some relevant work experience internationally
- ascertain the languages spoke by the intern. We have found that interns are usually fluent in more than two languages including English.
