Duration

Internships range in length from 6 to 24 weeks. Your internship with be full-time and you will be expected to be an active member of your host company’s staff. The actual role you assume will depend on the host company, your German language skills and your previous studies and experience.

The program includes:

  • four-week German language course 
  • internship placement in the field of your choice 
  • orientation on arrival 
  • weekly social events 
  • ongoing monitoring and support from our partners in Germany 
  • Certificate of Completion 
  • reference letter from your host company.

Eligibility

You must be aged 18 years or over. No visa is required for those residing in Germany for less than three months. If you wish to stay longer than three months, our partner in Berlin will assist you arrange the necessary permit.

You need an upper-intermediate level of German language to be a participant and will be required to complete a written German exam with your initial application. On arrival at the German Language School you will be given a German language placement test which will determine your level of studies.

Please note that if your German language teacher deems your German level too low to enter your internship, you will be required to extend your German language course until you reach the required level. This will be at an additional expense to you.

About Berlin

The German Language School, located in the heart of Berlin in the trendy Prenzlauer Berg. This part of the old East Berlin is full of galleries, bars, clubs and fashion stores featuring Berlin designers. With 40 classrooms and 50 studios on site, students are able to live and learn in the same location. The campus also features a cafeteria, restaurant, sporting facilities, lounge, bicycle rental, bookstore and travel agent and has wheelchair access.

Berlin is one of Europe’s most exciting cities with many artistic, cultural and historical districts to explore.

Accommodation

Professional Pathways Australia can arrange homestay accommodation (with breakfast/ half board /self catering) or studio accommodation on request.
