While travelling is a great experience, many people see benefits in spending some of their year abroad engaging in activities that will improve their career and/or study prospects when they return home. An internship can easily be added to your travel plan and is an excellent opportunity to do something which will be recognised by potential future employers. International work experience is highly regarded by businesses and can also enhance your future college application.
What is a gap year?
A gap year usually involves taking some time off between finishing high school and starting university/college or joining the workforce. Many people choose to travel during this time and try different experiences before they make decisions about what to study or where to work.
Of course, there will also be plenty of time for fun! PPA can arrange day tours and weekend trips, and we host regular social nights where you can meet other interns and sample the local nightlife.
