2-teach englishOur teaching program in China offers you the chance to immerse yourself in one of the most diverse and exciting cultures in the world. China is a land of amazing contrast and constant change. Experience the ancient wonders of the Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors or the modern architecture of Shanghai.

By joining our teaching program in China, not only will you be given a teaching placement in China, you will also gain TEFL qualifications and receive Mandarin language lessons.

The program is offered half year and full year. You can choose between a one or two semester placement. One semester is approximately five months in duration.

During your program you will receive a comprehensive and intensive four week training & orientation session including: English teaching methodology, language awareness, practical classroom techniques and orientation to living, working and travelling in China. You will receive a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate upon successful completion of the training session and a 6 month teaching position in a Chinese school. With this certificate, you will be able to work in China and other developing countries as an EFL teacher or teacher assistant, depending on the complementary qualifications you hold.

The program includes:

  • a four week Training & Orientation package which consists of English language teaching   methodology, orientation to China and Mandarin lessons followed by one or two semester teaching placement in a school in China.
  • TEFL certificate
  • ongoing academic support and access to teaching ideas 
  • an allowance of 2,000 RMB per month while teaching. 
  • 24 hour emergency support 
  • accommodation and meals are provided throughout the course of the program. This is generally in shared apartments with other teachers. 
  • completion bonus of 2,500 RMB per semester on completion of contract 
  • Certificate of completion.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and have completed high school with good grades. In addition, you must also have good health and no criminal record. Some work experience and experience working with children is preferable. You need to be either a native English speaker or have sound English levels.

You will need to apply for the ‘F’ visa to participate in this program.

Professional Pathways Australia’s partner in China will provide you with the necessary documentation required for application. Visa fees are not included in the program fee.

Chinese locations

Placements are spread across all areas of China. Whilst you can specify a region that you would prefer - North East, North, Central East and South - this cannot be guaranteed.

Health and vaccines

Professional Pathways Australia recommends you see a Doctor at least six weeks prior to travelling overseas.
