Duration
You will be expected to train full time business hours and be an active member of your host company. Internships range from 8 - 26 weeks. Should you require language instruction in Mandarin, the minimum course length is 4 weeks.
The program includes:
- optional four week Mandarin language course at Tsinghua University; additional weeks can be arranged on request
- internship placement in the field of your choice
- orientation on arrival
- public liability insurance
- social program
- weekly newsletters
- ongoing monitoring and support from our partner in China
- Certificate of completion
- Reference Letter from your host company.
Eligibility
You must be aged 18 years or over, have a strong interest in the Chinese culture and a minimum of one year's study in your chosen field.
No prior knowledge of Mandarin language is required as you are given intensive Mandarin language training through Tsinghua University prior to the commencement of their internship placement. If you have upper intermediate Mandarin language skills or higher, you may be exempt from the Mandarin language course.
Professional Pathways Australia will assist you acquire the appropriate visa for the duration of the program.
About Beijing or Shanghai
The optional Mandarin language course will be conducted by Tsinghua University in Beijing. Tsinghua is located in the North Western suburbs of Beijing on the site of the former royal garden of the Qing Dynasty.
Your internship can be undertaken in your choice of Beijing or Shanghai. As the economic and cultural hubs of China, there is a concentration of business, government and culture in these two cities. China is an exciting place to live with a vibrant mix of foods, culture, history and shopping. China’s unique culture, beautiful and diverse landscape and the friendly and relaxed manner of the Chinese people make it easy to ‘fit in’.
