Our internship program in China is a unique program offered by PPA and our agent in China, which has been in professional international education for almost 20 years. PPA offers practical work opportunities in China for international students who are studying in or have graduated from Universities.

Those participating in the program will have the opportunity to gain international work experience in a dynamic economy, learn Mandarin and become culturally immersed in one of the most fascinating countries in the world.

As employers look into China or develop a global focus, they will favor candidates with overseas experience especially those who are familiar with China. The experience will give participants CV’s the edge to land the job they’ve always wanted.

PPA sources suitable openings with host companies around China according to the intern’s background, skills and the requirements of host companies. The internship can be organized in almost any industry or field in most cities within China.

There might be an opporunity of employment after the internship if the company decides to hire the intern, but his cannot be guaranteed. Other job opporunities might be available through our strategic partnership with the biggest HR recruiter in China.

Program Outline

  • Mandarin course
    • 4 weeks Mandarin course (or more if requested) upon arrival in China
    • Choose from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Dalian or Guangzhou
    • Alternatively, our Online Mandarin course can be done prior to coming to China instead of the 4 weeks program in China
  • Internship
    • Commence internship after Mandarin course is completed
    • Beijing or Shanghai (other cities available upon request)
    • Stipend provided on work days
    • Opportunity for permanent employment after internship

Duration

You will be expected to train full time business hours and be an active member of your host company. Internships range from 8 - 26 weeks. Should you require language instruction in Mandarin, the minimum course length is 4 weeks.

  • four week Mandarin language course ; additional weeks can be arranged on request

Eligibility

You must be aged 18 years or over, have a strong interest in the Chinese culture and a minimum of one year's study in your chosen field.

No prior knowledge of Mandarin language is required as you are given intensive Mandarin language training through Tsinghua University prior to the commencement of their internship placement. If you have upper intermediate Mandarin language skills or higher, you may be exempt from the Mandarin language course.

Professional Pathways Australia will assist you acquire the appropriate visa for the duration of the program.

About Beijing or Shanghai

The optional Mandarin language course will be hold in Beijing while you can choose whether or not you want to stay in Beijing or travel to Shanghai for your internship.

As the economic and cultural hubs of China, there is a concentration of business, government and culture in these two cities. China is an exciting place to live with a vibrant mix of foods, culture, history and shopping. China’s unique culture, beautiful and diverse landscape and the friendly and relaxed manner of the Chinese people make it easy to ‘fit in’.
