Professional Pathways Australia offers a range of customised programs in Australia for international students and graduates.

Professional Year

Professional Pathways Australia has taken the lead in delivering the two DIAC approved Professional Year programs:

  • ACS Professional Year program (IT)
  • Skilled Migration Internship Program - Accounting (SMIPA).

In partnership with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and CPA Australia, NIA and ICAA, these programs have been designed principally for international graduates. Skills learned will enhance employment opportunities and provide recognised points for Australian permanent residency applications^.

Professional Internships

Professional internships in Australia are unpaid training periods of between four weeks and six months (depending on visa), and can be organised within most industries and cities in Australia. Undertaking a professional internship in Australia allows applicants to extend their area of studies or interest through practical application while gaining valuable industry experience and developing contacts.

Gap Year Internships

A Gap Year Internship is an internship program in Australia developed specifically for 18-20 year old high school leavers. Available in a specific number of fields, Professional Pathways Australia can arrange an internship which will add value to a gap year abroad. A gap year internship is not designed to replace paid work normally undertaken during a gap year, but can be "added on" at the beginning or end and can not only give candidates more insight into what career path they may wish to pursue, but can increase a candidate's chances of gaining entry to the university of their choice upon their return home.

Professional Pathways Australia’s programs can be packaged with optional services to best meet the needs of each applicant. We offer:

  • Airport pickup
  • Ongoing monitoring and support 
  • English course options through partner schools

Selecting some or all of these can make the internship more satisfying. Our objective is to assist the intern by taking the worry out of their travel and internship program arrangements so that they can relax and enjoy their experience in Australia.
